1/24/06 - Start planning your Valentine's Day now! Pre-order "The Frisco Kid" on DVD (available from Amazon.com, Buy.com, several other retailers)... the perfect gift for the Ford fan in your life. Also, The Los Angeles Times reports that Ben (son of Harrison) Ford is opening a new restaurant in Culver City, Calif. on Febuary 14. 1/18/06 - Virginia Madsen, Harrison's co-star in the upcoming film Firewall, is in talks to play Jim Carrey's wife in "The Number 23," a psychological thriller from director Joel Schumacher. Congratulations to Virginia!

1/16/06 - Harrison attended the Golden Globes awards ceremony as a presenter, along with his co-star in the upcoming film Firewall, Virginia Madsen. Check out Extra! Extra! for more details, and our blog for commentary.

1/10/06 - Harrison presented friend George Lucas with an award for favorite movie ("Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith") at the 32nd annual People's Choice Awards held in Los Angeles, Calif. Check out Extra! Extra! for more details.

 

The primary goal here at ford-jones.com is to pay tribute to work of actor Harrison Ford, who is a consistently good and underappreciated actor who has appeared in some of the most successful and influential films made since the 1970s. And, just as importantly, to have fun!

We'd love it if you have anything you'd like to contribute... articles (including and especially from outside the U.S.), photos, videoclips, opinions, website input... whatever! Just contact us at info@ford-jones.com. We look forward to hearing from you!

Our plan here at ford-jones.com is to get the basics up and running, then add the meat of the website this spring. The "Ford Film Fest" section will be the major piece of the website puzzle. Our aim is to present information on each of Ford's movies, including fun articles, reviews (including fan reviews!), photographs, data, etc.

We will also have a section called "Reading Room" that provides articles and information on books. Our "Fame Game" section will have information on the fluffy side of celebrity, including news on Harrison and Calista, the couple. The "Gallery" will feature photos, and "Small Screen Revue" will have information on Harrison's past and current television appearances.

"Merit Badges" will feature the coolly heroic angle (flying, saving hikers, protecting the environment, etc.). "Fun and Games" is just that... goofy stuff when you want to take a break from all this serious film analysis.

Two other fun features: our blog will feature our take on current events, mostly related to Ford but we reserve the right to digress as we see fit. And "Jonesy's Lounge" is our forum... it will feature news and views on Ford and a bunch of other topics, so drop by and give us some feedback!

And one last future feature: we'll be adding A/V clips as well, both of movie snippets and television interviews. Our goal on that one is summer '06... we'll keep you posted!
